Events
The Vancouver Island Avalanche Centre Society hosts two major events which are both a huge amount of fun, as well as important fundraisers to keep the bulletin alive!
Vancouver Island Backcountry Festival
Each winter in February the Vancouver Island Avalanche Centre Society brings you the Backcountry Fest at Mount Cain. The event includes guided educational backcountry laps with ACMG guides by donation to the bulletin, an amazing raffle with mind-bogglingly good prizes from our sponsors, a beer garden and a late night DJ dance party on the snow in the woods!
The event runs February 10-11th, 2018 at Mount Cain.
Party for the Bulletin
The date for the 10th Annual Party for the Bulletin is Saturday, November 18th, 2017 and it's going to be a blast as usual!
The formula is pretty simple: you turn up at the Riding Fool Hostel on Saturday, November 18th, 2017. You enjoy some fine brew supplied by our friends at Cumberland Brewing. You dance with your friends to the awesome tunes. You go and bid on an array of silent auction items that make snow lovers drool (think, skis, transceivers, outdoor clothing etc. etc.)
And while you enjoy all this fine snow related hedonism you are actually being the ultimate altruist as you are supporting the Vancouver Island Avalanche Bulletin.
